Why I Had to Protect My Music: A Note to My Fellow Creators

Before I was a DJ or a label owner, I was exactly where you are. I was a YouTuber and a Streamer, I always tried to find music without a copyright headache.

That search was what inspired my mission: I wanted to be the artist that provided that freedom for others. I wanted my music to be the soundtrack to your projects, free of charge and free of drama.

But as my music started to reach more of you, a dark side of the industry emerged.

The Stolen Dream

Some bad actors began systematically stealing my tracks. They would remove my artist name, rename my songs, and upload them as their own, registering them with Content ID systems without making any changes to profit off work they didn’t create.

The situation became surreal. I started receiving copyright claims on my own music. As an independent artist, the legal battle to prove my identity against these thieves was exhausting and nearly impossible. I was faced with a choice: let my life’s work be swallowed by scammers, or take the one step I never wanted to take.

A Decision Against My Will

To stop the theft, I had to register my catalog with YouTube’s Content ID system. It was a move made against my own philosophy, but it was the only way to lock the door against those trying to ruin it for both of us.

I know that this registration has caused friction for you. I felt that pain every time a fan messaged me about a claim. It wasn’t the relationship I wanted to have with this community.

Finally, a Solution!

I have spent the last few months working on a better way; a bridge that keeps the thieves out while letting you in.

I am proud to finally share my Authorization Tool.

This is my way of standing with you. By using this tool, you can generate an official clearance certificate in seconds. It is the direct result of months of coding and planning, built specifically so you never have to worry about monetization issues again.

I am still that same creator who just wants to make great music for you to use. Thank you for sticking with me while I fought to protect what is ours.
