Step-by-Step Aggregate Device Configuration
Open Audio MIDI Setup from Applications > Utilities. In the Audio Devices window, click the ‘+’ button in the bottom left corner and select ‘Create Aggregate Device’. Rename it for clarity, e.g., “DJ Setup”.
Now, tick the ‘Use’ checkbox next to each audio interface you intend to use. This typically includes your main DJ controller and any additional sound cards. Designate one reliable interface as the ‘Clock Source’ to prevent drift and ensure synchronization across devices. Enable ‘Resample’ for any non-clock source devices.
Integrating with DJ Software
After creating your aggregate device, launch your preferred DJ software (e.g., Serato DJ, rekordbox, Traktor). Navigate to the audio settings or preferences within the software. Select your newly created aggregate device as the primary audio output. This allows your DJ application to utilize all combined outputs and inputs seamlessly for cueing and master out.
